As a result of the National Council of Nonprofits and others, the voice of nonprofits is starting to be heard on bread-and-butter issues that count in the provision of more and better services to people in need.


n a December 2013 article, the National Council of Nonprofits (“NCNP”) was recognized by The Nonprofit Quarterly (“NPQ”) for its efforts in advocating major changes to federal grant and contract reform. The article by NPQ, one of the most widely respected nonprofit publishing journals in the world, highlights the coming revisions to the Office of Management and Budget’s (“OMB”) various circulars. The OMB is due to release their official guidance on December 26, 2013. Among the many changes outlined in the circular, some of the most important to nonprofit organizations will be new processes around indirect cost negotiations and increased Single Audit thresholds from $500,000 to $750,000.
